A new CIRAD publication, le “Guide de performances & d’exigences fonctionnelles des ouvrages en bois tropicaux africains”, ("Guide to performance & practical requirements for structures made of African tropical wood," in English) supported by the Programme for the Promotion of the Certified Forest Exploitation (PPECF - Programme de Promotion de l'Exploitation Certifiée des Forêts, in French ) and Le Commerce du Bois (LCB), shines a bright light on FSC certification as a crucial tool for combating deforestation in the tropical regions of Africa.
