A global first: a brand new campaign that celebrates the (keyboard) power of South Africans was launched in October 2016. The campaign aims to help ordinary South Africans understand what impact the content of their shopping baskets and smart devices can have on saving the planet and empowering local communities.

On 13-14 September, a group of 36 experts from allover the world (all linked to East and southern Africa), with different professional backgrounds assembled in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This diverse group of individuals were invited by FSC to provide their input to the first Eastern and Southern Africa expert engagement workshop on smallholder certification.

The 11th Scientific Conference of FSK took place from 27-30 September in Eldoret, Kenya. The FSK is a membership organization of professional foresters in Kenya.
